Senior Backend Engineer (Python / FastAPI)
Build the services behind our ETRM, BI, and governance platforms - trade lifecycle, position and risk, governed data APIs - on Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL.
Apply for this role →We build real systems in hard, regulated domains - energy trading, enterprise data, AI governance - advise the organizations that run them, and teach what we learn. We hire people who want to do all three well.
Production systems for trading, risk, and governance used by serious organizations - not demos or decks.
Consulting sharpens the products, the products inform the training, and the training deepens everyone. You can work across all three.
A small, high-trust team where your work is visible, your judgment is used, and there is no pyramid to hide behind.
Roles span product engineering, consulting, and training across every offering. We also hire ahead of need - if you are excellent and none of these fit exactly, apply under General and tell us what you'd build.

Upskilling is not a perk here, it is the core of what we do. Because we run a training academy, every person on the team has direct access to the same production-grade programs we deliver to clients, and a clear path up their career ladder. We invest in growth deliberately: structured learning pathways, mentorship from senior practitioners, and real ownership of consequential work.
A sequenced pathway from data and SQL foundations to analytics engineering and applied machine learning.
End-to-end cloud data architecture: ingestion, lakehouse, transformation, orchestration, governance.
Quantitative finance and risk, derivatives, and regulatory frameworks for front-office and risk roles.
The full ETRM platform and the data engineering that runs beneath it, across trade, risk, and analytics.
Strategy, governance, DAMA DMBOK aligned CDMP preparation, and master data management.
An IC-to-Head-of-Data path for those growing into architecture and leadership roles.
Every pathway is available to the team, and each ships with hands-on labs and a portfolio-ready capstone. Explore the full catalogue in our Academy.
We are a small, high-trust team, and we intend to keep it inclusive as we grow. We select on ability and judgment, write role requirements around what the work actually needs, and support people from different backgrounds to do their best work. We hire ahead of need when we meet excellent people, and we make room for talent that does not fit a conventional mould.
Our training academy extends this commitment outward: accessible, self-paced and cohort-based programs that open technical careers to people regardless of where they studied or started.
Sustainability shows up in the substance of our work. We design serverless and cost-efficient lakehouse and mesh architectures with FinOps discipline, which cuts wasted compute and the energy behind it. In energy and commodities, we build carbon accounting and emissions data pipelines that help clients measure and report their environmental impact. As a hybrid, digital-first firm, we also keep our own operational footprint deliberately lean.
We work hybrid, from our office in Noida, India. We combine focused in-person collaboration with the flexibility to do deep work, and we set expectations clearly rather than applying one rigid rule to everyone.
Five days a week in the Noida office, leading teams, clients, and delivery in person.
Three days a week in the Noida office, with the remaining days remote.
Some roles and client engagements may call for more on-site time. Where that is the case, we make it clear during the hiring conversation. A lean, senior team means your work is visible and your time is respected, without a pyramid to hide behind.
We follow the vaccination and public-health guidance issued by the relevant Indian government and local health authorities. We support our team in staying up to date with recommended vaccinations and accommodate reasonable time away for vaccination. For on-site work and client visits, we comply with any health and safety requirements that apply at the location.
Tell us what you've built and what you'd like to build next. We read every application. Fields marked * are required.
Thank you - your application is in. If there's a fit, a senior member of the team will be in touch.
Open knowledge, real access
We publish a large body of free, original educational content on enterprise data, trading systems, risk, and governance, so practitioners can learn regardless of budget. Our public knowledge base and video channel exist to raise the floor of the field, not just to market to it. We treat democratizing access to serious technical education as our most direct contribution.
